Didn’t live up to the hype out of the box. – Sound is kind of blah.. Back story I have a (5-6 year) old set of Logitech G430 headphones I’ve been using daily, hours on end, for years, and they are at this point held together with tape. They sound so much better, bass sounds so much better, but they no longer make them.. So I decided to get these Artics 3 after looking at all the reviews, and people (probably paid) to rant about how great these are… They finally arrived. They fit nice, feel light, (hotter on ears) but as soon as I plugged them in, I could tell the sound was flat. Plugged the Logitech’s back in on the same song, and the bass was hitting so much harder. Every song I listen to sounds better on the Logitech’s, by a huge margin. So needless to say I’m pretty disappointed with the sound. Just to be clear these were both $50-$60 headsets. These Artics might be OK if you just game, but listening to music/movies they just have a flat dull sound that isn’t immersive. These things should cost like $15 max. How PC Gamer gave these an award boggles the mind.

STEEL SERIES WARRANTY PROCESS IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL – As you read this review please note the headset was in excellent condition at the time it broke with no user related damage. Also, my experience during this entire communication process with Steel Series is that they will respond to your email once per day and not on the weekends.
