Very good for the money – Set this up in my garage. The photo I included is 150 inch projection with the projector sitting about five or six feet away. The projector screen was $150 i think. The black bars at top and bottom were added by the movie. Given what I paid for it I think the image quality is very good. Have been using it very regularly. It will not do well with too much ambient light. So if it was 3 or 4:00 p.m. with the light coming through my garage door windows at just the wrong time, I wouldn’t be able to really enjoy the golf event though I would be able to see it.

Suffers from audio QC like the GT1080HDR – Unfortunately, this model suffers from the same audio out problems that the base model does (you can check the reviews on that model for more details). The picture is amazing and the brightness was exactly what I was after for a large garage deco display for Halloween. Unfortunately, no matter what device I plugged into the audio out suffered from crackling until it eventually stopped working entirely. This was while being connected to either the HDMI 1 or 2 inputs, making using a media box without separate audio out capabilities impossible. This can be circumvented by changing audio settings in the source if you have that ability, but I did not, so it didn’t work out for me. The keystone and focus were easy to manage, the menu was simple to navigate, and all pretty basic as expected. Overall, a very decent-looking projector that unfortunately suffers in the audio department.

Great SDR Picture, but awful HDR. – Not sure why this projector’s name ends in HDR. It’s the one thing it does not do well. The picture looks great on the HDMI2/MHL port in SDR when feeding it a 4K/24hz source (movies), but HDR on the HDMI1 port is completely useless. Like other reviewers have mentioned, it’s a washed-out picture with inaccurate colors. I have spent way too much time trying to get this picture looking descent when feeding it an HDR source. In order to use the HDMI1 port, you need to disable HDR output on the connected device. If that is not an option, you have to use HDMI2. Since my use for this projector is backyard movies, I can deal with this since the picture is quite good in SDR. I just can’t give it a better rating when its name implies that it can handle HDR but really shouldn’t. Gaming is great when set to 1080P/120hz.

Bright & Sharp Image in Lit Room – We’re using it for presentations, announcements, and sheetmusic examples in a well lit classroom, rehearsal hall type of space. The projector’s image is bright and high quality. We’re rear projecting onto a light absorbing screen (0.8 ratio) to reduce ambient light glare; even so, there’s enough lumens coming out to keep images viewable and readable. We’re making about a 110″ diagnol image from only about 3.3 feet away from the screen. Took a star off rating, because setup and aiming instructions are non-intutive and sparse. However, the in-focus, crisp and bright, image display is wonderful!

So far, so great, huge bang for buck. – I’m particularly sensitive to any sort of input delay, and even used a high refresh rate camera to try to detect any noticeable delay between my laptop running at 144hz with 1ms delay and this projector. It truly works as advertised, and if used with a PC you’ll experience lower input latency than you would with a standard TV (or even a decent gaming monitor) with a console. Picture looks great indoors and outdoors, it really only meets acceptable levels for use outdoors around sunset give or take about 15 minutes depending on where it’s being used.
