Overall solid headset for gaming, okay for music, good microphone. GSX 300 is a joke. – I have owned a number of audiophile headphones in the past, among them the Hifiman Sundara, Sennheiser HD 58x, HD 598, and Audio Technica M40x. Having gotten tired of using them with a standalone microphone, and not really wanting to deal with using a modmic attachment, I opted to purchase the H6PRO open back headphones. Compared to all the headphones listed above, the H6PRO’s have a significantly wider sound stage, which was amazing for gaming, allowing for very accurate directional sound when listening for footsteps and what not. Purely for gaming, these headphones are fantastic, with the microphone quality being clear and solid. The microphone is also detachable, which could be a handy feature for some. I would also like to note that while they are marked as open headphones, they still do have some minor noise cancellation compared to other open back designs I’ve owned from Sennheiser. They are somewhere between semi-open and open in terms of noise cancellation, rather than purely open-backed like the 598s.

Great surround sound, from within a tin can – I purchased the headphone and external sound card as a package, set them up, downloaded the mixing software, and was incredibly disappointed with these headphones. While I did get what I wanted in one way – directional sound – it is sorely lacking in sound quality and sounds like a tin can, or kind of muffled. After trying to adjust the EQ settings, I was unable to achieve any improvement in the sound. I’m returning them

Repackaged and ready to ship after 3 hours of opening – I bought this because I thought it was a good deal to get the GSX 300 for just $20 more with the headset. This amp is quiet at full blast out of the box. After research, I went into the Epos Gaming Suite and created a preset and set everything at 6+ db. Although it did make a difference, it was not enough to even justify the $20 it was that bad. First and only Epos product I’ll ever buy, I’ve never returned something faster in my life. I loved my Jubilee 58x and currently daily driving the Meze 99 Neo. I had high hopes because of Sennheiser and I’m heartbroken at how disappointing this purchase is. Please do yourself a favor and stay far away from this product.
