ATH-G1 Thoughts – I’ll state it now, I got these when they were on sale. Plus I was interested in giving Audio Technica a try, so perfect timing. Especially when the previous headset I bought broke, which were cheap as I was waiting to get a better set from my previous set snapping unfortunately.

– used over 10 headsets and headphones and these do sound rather nice I must admit with a crisp sound and good level of bass thanks to the open back design, but the inner ear cup would rub my ears very quickly. the headphones also feel rather flimsy I must say, definitely NOT premium. even at 60 GBP I had to return them

Comfortable, great gaming headphones, good listening headphones – They’re fine. The “Premium” is marketing speak. Don’t expect ATH-M50s (or even M40s ) plus a mic for this price. They seem to be based on the ATH-PRO5 DJ headphones, both in basic design and driver size (44mm vs 45mm in the M50s, 40mm in the M40s). Keep in mind, these are the PG1s which are the closed-back version, the PDG1s are open-backed and have 40mm drivers.
