Got a defective unit – Purchased the keyboard on the 30th of October. And had issues with the number 9 key on the numpad with no response when I hit the key as soon as I opened it up out of the box. Figured it was a firmware issue and that the update would fix it. Updated it 3 days later, issue became worse. 9 key wouldn’t respond still, and would spam the 9 key at random. Disappointed that it wasn’t functional within the first week. Asus needs to do better quality control with these particular keyboards. Replaced with the scope tkl wireless deluxe. If you are looking to buy this keyboard, hold off for a few months until asus gets this squared away. And for Asus, do better. Shouldn’t have to replace a keyboard within the first week.

Key Sound and Travel Weight – Very nice keyboard sound and rigidity, preferred over cherry mx browns which I’ve used for many years. I have used lots of different keyboard switches and this one (RX Red) seems to have very linear yet still tactile and quiet. The stabilizers on spacebar and enter/tab are perfect. The side marked keycaps with integrated functionality are very nice when I want change volume or brightness. Detachable keypad is secure and seems like it will last a long time. Big volume wheel and play pause macros. USB passthrough when plugged in.

I understood the keyboard had a battery, but was hopeful the 10-key did as well so that it would work while disconnected. Nope. That’s really my only disappointment; the keyboard is excellent, 5/5 otherwise.

Great upgrade, RX reds are quick – Coming from the OG claymore core TKL keyboard with brown switches, i was pleased to see that the numpad was included and still optional. I got this open box and happy i did for the price.
