This is how you keep your optical cable headset on PS5. – If you have a PS4 headset that works fine and utilizes an optical cable you need this. Do not cheap out because you will loose your 120FPS capability. This one allows you to keep 120 FPS. I use a turtle beach 700 series wireless headset. The only downside, not so much of this but with the ps5 in general is you run out of USB ports. Between my headset, external hard drive, my camera, and now this device. I have no other USB ports. I have to charge my controller and headset on my PS4.

Solo da Problemas – Genera problemas a la hora de conectarla a una capturadora para streams pasa perdiendo señal y genera un error de audio con los audífonos cuando eliges la opción de salida de audio del equipo en el PS5 cuando te quedas sin batería en los audífonos. Perfect for My Needs – I am a console gamer, with an Xbox One X, Series X and a Nintendo Switch, possibly getting a PS5 in the future to play those Sony IPs. Anyway, I have a Gen 3 Astro A50, a great headset that I have configured to play audio from my PC and Xbox One X at the same time. This allows for notification and any other audio from my PC to come across through the ‘Voice” channel on my headset with the USB plugged directly into my PC. The optical audio is ran from my console to my base station.

Product failure after 4 months – If you have an Astro headset with the mix amp and want the full functionality of controlling voice/game volumes independent of each other this is the correct product. Worked exactly how I hoped but after 4 months it has decided to quit working entirely. Not sure the cause of failure but probably overheating? Product box says 1 year limited hardware warranty but amazon’s policy is 30 days for returns so not sure where that leaves me. Worst case scenario I’ll buy another one and hope it last longer.
